Home Tour

It’s been a long time coming with this Home Tour! Over a year ago all the decorating, styling, photo taking took place! Now that these stunning photos have been taken by Tracey Ayton and published numerous times in Style at Home and other online publications I’m excited to now share them on the blog! (Hopefully you’re not sick of them yet!) Thank you for all your kind comments throughout this process, hope you can find some inspiration for your own home!

I won’t chat to much about what we did here, since the photos speak volumes! You’ll notice lots of whites, neutral tones, comfort and really easy living. Yes, we have a fourteen month old little guy- and everything is still clean and just the way we like it. Thanks to Stephanie of Stephanie Jean Design she helped us create a space where we can call home and love the calmness of each and every room. Working with Stephanie made designing this house a dream, creating just what we envisioned and of course pinned on Pinterest!

Number one question asked: Paint colours!! We used White Dove throughout the House with Simply White for the finishings.

    1. The gold frames are from a local framing company called Final Touch Framing in Vancouver 🙂

    I have been looking everywhere for the lamps you have in your bedroom I believe I saw somewhere you got them at homesense? I live in the US and don’t know what home sense is (is it like a homegoods, marshalls, tjmaxx- that sells designers goods for less) if so is there a brand name on the lamp anywhere? or do you have suggestions of any similar lamps!

      The Lamps are from Home Sense which is like a home goods in the States. Maybe try Restoration Hardware, they might have something similar 🙂 Good luck finding them!

    Regarding the BM White Dove paint – did you do your ceilings, walls, and trim all in that same colour? What you did looks beautiful and I am struggling with choosing a white for the ceiling and trim! We have the White Dove for the walls…

      Thank you for your comment, I’m so glad you can find inspiration from our home tour! I can’t wait to share the new house… soon, very soon!

      In terms of the paint colors: White Dove was used on the walls throughout. The trim and all the finishings are Simply white by BM. And the ceiling is half shade of White dove, which is standard in terms of choosing ceiling color.

We are getting ready to meet with an architect and I was just wondering how tall your ceilings were in your previous home. It looks like the dining area was at least 12 or 13 feet? Many thanks!

    1. Hi Nichole,

      The ceiling in our last house were 10 ft tall on the main floor. That being said- the dining room had a dropped coffered ceiling This house we are building now are 10 ft. With a vaulted ceiling in the family room. Hope that helps!

  62. Hi! Are your kitchen counters real marble? If so, how have you found the experience? If not what are they?

    1. Hi Ocelia,

      Yes! Our counters are marble! We just love the look of the marble. It is a bit more high maintenance, however if you properly seal it and take care of your counters it will hold of very nicely. We are putting marble in our new house again.

      Thank you for your comment, that’s so sweet of you. Sadly I am not sure where those tiles are from as they were supplied from my builder. He just had a sample that I chose. They are slate, perhaps if you search slate tiles something similar will come up.

  68. Hi! Okay so I just discovered your blog today and am OBSESSED! I am currently building a home (not custom, with a building company), and am picking all of our interior options with my husband! Right now I’m debating between a stainless steel and farmhouse sink – I’m going with the all white look as well (heart eyes!). On a DIFFERENT note, I noticed in some of these photos you have a TV above your fireplace in your living room, and in some you don’t! Do you hide your TV in the photos where it’s gone, or remove it completely? Any tips would be appreciated! I really don’t want to put a TV over our fireplace, but there is really nowhere else to put it :-/

      Thank you for your sweet comment! Yes to the farmhouse sink!! My fave!!
      In terms of the t.v., because these photos were shot for a magazine they wanted photos with and without a t.v.
      Normally we had the t.v. hung over the fireplace. Though with this new house we decided we wanted to hide it, so we cut a space for it, and created custom doors in front. Will hide it a bit 🙂
